Summary of some useful “extensions” for Merch by Amazon
In this article, I will introduce you to some free “extensions” that help you find products, analyse and manage your Merch by Amazon account.
DS Amazon Quick View is an extension that adds ratings (BSR – Best Seller Rank) and displays product information.
Why need BSR? It’s simply an index you can rely on to find potential designs, niches & topics on Amazon.
When the BSR is low (< 500k) it means the item is selling well, and when it is high (> 1 million) – the basic item has not generated sales recently or is out of season.
The case “Rank not found” – not showing BSR is because the product has never been on sale to create a rating.
In addition to finding out which products are selling well through BSR, you also need to look at the keywords related to the topic used to rank & search for the product. AMZ Suggestion Expander will help you do this.
After installing the widget, enter a word related to the item or topic you’re thinking of. For example, I enter “mother’s day”. AMZ Suggestion Expander will suggest keywords/phrases that people use when searching on Amazon. This gives you more ideas, finds more “long tail keywords” that help reduce competition & dives into the main topic.
3- PrettyMerch
PrettyMerch is an extension that is loved and used by many people. Especially a newbie who “likes to fish”. Besides:
The account page is intuitive and easy to track indicators.
The real-time notification when there is a sale with the bell sounds pretty good.
Detailed analysis of sales so far.
The product management page displays details & filters according to individual needs for optimization.
4- Productor
This can be called the “tycoon” of free utilities for Merch.
Because Productor includes a lot of functions for you to exploit & use:
Display BSR index, detailed information of the product.
Filters sort BSR, Price, Reviews, … from low to high & vice versa.
Export all product information to Excel file.
Check Trademark when searching & even uploading new designs.
Can restore previously deleted design, including full text & images.
There are many other interesting things you can find out by yourself.
Cons: There are too many functions in one utility, so the data load time is quite long.
BONUS
In addition to the “extensions” listed above. I introduce you to the Merch Research page, which uses a filter to display only products sold through Merch. The purpose of optimizing competitor research & product classification.
Usage is very simple. You just need to select the market (US, UK or DE) -> product type (t-shirt, popsocket, tank top, …) -> enter the keywords you want to find and you’re done.
